August 2007
August was another busy, busy month! On the 2nd I was at Fairlight studios judging miss Teen Queen, where I met some really sweet girls, who seemed to really enjoy themselves. On the 3rd I went to Saddlers Wells theatre in London where I met some wonderful deaf children, who were having lots of fun. There I launched ‘Happy Mondays’ which is a project to get businesses to donate money so the children can take part in fun and exciting activities together.
On the 4th I did a photo shoot at Fairlight studios and then back to brands hatch again, but this time to the super bikes championships where I met James Toseland who came 4th in sports person of the year recently, so a huge well done to him.
Throughout the month I did so many great things, but one thing, which wasn’t so nice, was my injections I had to have in order to go to Miss World! Ouch, very painful, but well worth it!
On Friday 17th I went to model for my fabulous new hairdressers for the year ‘Bang’ in York, run by Jon and Sarah Cotton. The end of August was really exciting. I went to London to do 3 days of filming for Nuts TV for a show called ‘Will beauty call?’ it was absolutely brilliant and gave me a real taste for TV presenting. On the 28th I had a sign language lesson and did some filming for a TV programme called ‘See Hear’ with an organisation called ‘Deafway’. It was so interesting. Being Miss England is so exciting and unpredictable, and I absolutely love it!

July 2007
So, after winning Miss England on the 30th June I was non-stop! Throughout July I did lots of amazing and exciting things. I went to a huge food festival in Birmingham then on to open a school sports day a few days later, both of which were great fun.
On July 15th I went to Brands Hatch to watch the car racing, which was a little bit scary! But still very exciting, and then on the 17th I went to Fenwick’s where a personal shopper picked out and outfit for me for a shoot for the paper, I felt a little bit famous!
Me at Brands Hatch
On the 23rd I was off again to do a shoot with GNER the train company, and on the 27th I went to visit a dress designer called Anh Mao who was making me some outfits for miss world. On Monday 30th I went to the Kensington Olympia in London where I modelled some swimwear by Aguaclara, who were my official swimwear sponsors for miss world, they have some absolutely amazing pieces of swimwear, also that day I met Sophie Anderton! Who was also modelling swimwear.
Me in some of my beautiful Aguaclara swimwear!
Finally to end my month I went to see Eric Way who designed my stunning dress for the final. He had some amazing ideas, and came up with the most fabulous design. I think then I dawned on me that I was in the Miss World finals!
So I had a very busy but very fun 1st month!

My first engagement as Miss England
Hi Guys,
My first engagement as Miss England was on Monday 2nd July (so not much
time to recover from the shock of wining!)
At 10am a photographer called Laurence Lawry arrived at my house armed
with his camera! Poor mum was up since 5am hovering the house! He took
lots of photographs of me and my family and boyfriend for Hello Magazine,
Me in Hello!? Never in a million years would I have ever thought that
would happen!
He was still shooting pictures when my local paper arrived
to take some photographs and do a quick interview with me.
When both the photographers had gone, Tyne tees the local ITV news channel
turned up to do some filming with me, which was great fun.
And that was my first day as Miss England.

The Miss England Contest
So my first entry to my Miss England Diary! How exciting!
Hello Everyone,
I guess the best place to start is at the very beginning! On June 28th -
30th 2007 I was lucky enough to compete in the miss England finals. Over
the three days many exciting events took place as well as many rehearsals
with Lisa the Miss England choreographer.
The final night took place on the 30th June. Nerves were flying high that
night, as I walked out on stage in front of a huge audience (including
lots of my friends and family!) As the night went on the 90 contestants,
were narrowed down to 30, then 15 then 7! Much to my amazement I was still
in the running. The other six girls and I stood back stage waiting for
the final 3 to be announced. 3rd place was called, then 2nd, and at this
point I really thought I stood no further chance! And then to my complete
surprise Miss England 2007 was me!
Everything from that moment on was a blur! And I was whisked off for lots
of photographs and interviews. That would have to be the most amazing
night of my life! Lastly I would just like to say a huge thank you to all
the lovely contestants for making the three days so enjoyable.
Love Georgia xx
